CLAY COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— The Clay County Sheriff’s Office found a person who had a Silver Alert out from Licking County, Ohio.
According to Sheriff Brison Swearingen, the sheriff’s office was notified that the man may be in the Vigo/Clay area. At around 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, a Clay County Deputy saw a vehicle that the missing person was said to be driving.
Sheriff Swearingen added that the deputy conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. When doing so, the deputy was able to determine that the occupant was, in fact, the person in the active silver alert. Deputies made contact with the family and coordinated efforts to return them to their family. Sheriff’s office staff remained with the person at the sheriff’s office until the family arrived from Columbus, Ohio.
