VINCENNES, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— The Indiana Department of Homeland Security is seeking the public’s assistance in finding an arsonist.
Investigators are looking into a fire that occurred late at night on June 12. Vincennes Fire Department and Vincennes Police Department responded to the blaze in the 400 block of South 15th Street. When investigating, the authorities were able to determine that the fire was intentionally set by someone throwing a firework from a vehicle that was outside the front of the house.
“We are asking for the community’s help to identify those responsible,” said State Fire Marshal Steve Jones. “Even a small detail could make a big difference in solving this case.”
Authorities are asking if anyone has any information to contact the Indiana Arson Hotline at 1-800-382-4628. They are currently offering a $5,000 reward for information that will lead to the arrest of the arsonist.
