TERRE HAUTE, Ind (WTWO/WAWV) — Downtown Terre Haute hosted the Sixth Street Art Festival on Saturday.
The street held all types of art. Featuring paintings, ceramics, sculptures, demonstrations, live music and more. This festival strives to bring vibrance and culture to the Terre Haute community through local artists. This year, 20 artist tents were set up to display their artwork.
Many members of the local community explored the colorful atmosphere, looking for a potential piece of art to take home. Kat Walker and Sharon Hawk, members of the Sullivan Ara Art Guild, said they are grateful for the opportunity to display their member’s artwork and connect with the local art community.
“I love it. We love it. It does not have to be ours. We just love when one of our member’s sells something and it’s recognized. Cause we think we have some pretty good artists in Sullivan,” said Walker and Hawk.
A day to walk through art and be immersed in different styles of expression. This annual festival plans to be back next year.
