On June 7, an SUV driven by Casey was traveling west on Oak St. and failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of South 13th St. and Oak St, causing the vehicle to collide with a truck, according to Terre Haute Police Department Lt. Justin Sears.
According to court documents, a witness to the crash said they saw Casey driving at a high rate of speed, and multiple females were sitting outside the windows of the vehicle. The witness said Casey was driving recklessly and ran every posted stop sign on Oak Street.
While speaking to police, Casey allegedly told them she had two shots of liquor called 99 proof between 9 a.m. and Noon, Saturday morning. Casey also told police she didn’t know the four passengers in the vehicle and was taking them to a hair store, according to court documents.
A certified blood draw confirmed that Casey had a blood alcohol content of 0.22 and tested positive for THC, said Sears.
Casey is scheduled to appear for an initial hearing in the Vigo Superior Court, Division 5, on July 12 at 1:30 p.m.
