VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – One person was hurt in a single-vehicle, rollover crash Tuesday afternoon on Interstate 70 in Vigo County.
The crash happened around 2 p.m. in the westbound lanes near mile marker 1.
According to the Vigo County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the scene and found a vehicle on its roof in the median of the interstate. Several people were outside the vehicle and were identified as the driver and passengers.
The sheriff’s office said the driver had non-life-threatening injuries and was treated at the scene. The agency added that all occupants of the vehicle were then taken to a local hospital for treatment and evaluation.
The sheriff’s office says the cause of the crash was determined to be overcorrecting from running off the roadway to prevent crashing into a slowed vehicle in the same lane.
Indiana State Police assisted at the scene with traffic control.
