WEST TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— The town of West Terre Haute is getting upgrades for its water tower that will affect nearby communities.
According to the Deputy Clerk Treasurer for the Town of West Terre Haute, upgrades to the water tower will take place on May 28. All out-of-town customers will have no available water on that day from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. After that, a Boil Order Advisory will be put into place. The residents of Ferguson Hill and Toadhop will not be affected.
The CDC’s guidance for how to properly boil water during these situations is as follows:
- Fill a pot with water.
- Heat the water until bubbles come from the bottom of the pot to the top.
- Once the water reaches a rolling boil, let it boil for 1 minute.
- Turn off the heat source and let the water cool.
- Pour the water into a clean container with a cover for storage.
