SAINT MARY-OF-THE-WOODS, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – A new partnership was announced Thursday between Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College and Marian University.
SMWC and Marian University signed an agreement that will create more opportunities for students in engineering and medicine.
The first opportunity is a 3+2 program. Students can enroll in SMWC’s Math Major and after three years, transfer to Marian University with the option of pursuing several engineering pathways.
The second opportunity is for SMWC students who earn a degree in Biology – Preprofessional. It gives them the chance to enroll in Marian University’s Osteopathic Medicine program.
Marian University President Daniel J. Elsener said he believes this partnership will not only broaden job opportunities for students, but is also a vital step in evolving higher education.
“If you desire to come here to undergrad, you can do it, but you have a nice track and pathway to medicine or engineering. It’s really the way to the future of higher ed,” said Elsener.
SMWC President Brennan Randolph said those interested should contact the SMWC Admissions Office and he added they will be posting information about the new opportunities online soon.
