CAYUGA, Ind. (WTWO-WAWV) — The following is a news release from the Indiana State Police Putnamville District :
The Indiana State Police initiated a criminal investigation in October 2024, after receiving information that a female child under the age of 14, had been inappropriately touched by an adult male.
The investigation revealed that Carthell D. Jeys Jr., age 40, of Cayuga, IN, allegedly committed sexual misconduct with a female child in Vermillion County. The investigation also revealed that he was in possession of child pornography.
After reviewing the information, the Vermillion County Prosecutor’s Office issued an arrest warrant. Jeys was arrested this evening by the Indiana State Police Central SWAT Team without incident. Carthell D. Jeys Jr. is currently being held in the Vermillion County Jail without bond.
