MARSHALL, Ill. (WTWO/WAWV)—The University of Illinois’ Extension that serves Edgar, Clark, and Crawford County will be hosting a plant and bake sale in Marshall, Illinois.
This sale will be a little different from a plant or bake sale you might be used to, because not only can you come to buy, you can come to sell. You are encouraged to bring your very own seedlings, cuttings, and houseplants to sell. You can also bake some treats and sell them as well. You can set your own prices as well, but spots are limited for both the indoor and outdoor spaces.
To reserve a space, call the Edgar County Extension Office at 217-465-8585. The event is free to set up a booth for and to come and shop at. The sale will take place on May 3 at the Clark County Extension Office, located at 15493 North State Highway 1 in Marshall, Illinois. The sale will take place from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., and Master Gardeners with the University of Illinois Extension will be on site to answer any of your horticulture questions. Sadly, due to the threat of jumping worms, plants that were dug up from the ground will not be allowed to be sold to avoid further spread of the invasive species.
