WABASH VALLEY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Wabash River Planning Partnership has developed a Community Riverfront Master Plan, and they are ready to introduce it to the local community.
The partnership is made up of several organizations including the City of Terre Haute, Vigo County, Riverscape, and Thrive West Central.
Riverfront Development Director, Lori Danielson, said the goal of the plan is to inspire and attract investment and development along the Wabash River.
Danielson said they asked the community for feedback and are planning out future projects based on those requests.
“What we heard was that we wanted to see more trails and connecting of trails so people can bike, walk, and run along the river”, Danielson said. “People want to live near the river, so we’re looking for mixed use development as well as retail and dining near the river.”
The Wabash River Planning Partnership will be presenting their master plan on Wednesday, April 23, at the Hulman Center Atrium. Doors will open at 4:30 p.m. and the event is free and open to the public.
