SAINT MARY-OF-THE-WOODS, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Sisters of Providence and the White Violet Center for Eco-Justice hopes you’ll join them this Saturday for the annual Earth Day Festival.
It will take place Saturday, April 26, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the campus of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods. The event will feature many local vendors, music, and food. The Indiana Department of Natural Resources will also bring its Woods on Wheels interactive exhibit to the event. The festival will feature lots of animals for families to see, including the alpacas.
“I just love when the kids come in and they are with their families, and they’re running around and they’re just enjoying nature,” said Tara Elmore, Ministry Outreach and Programs Director. “They get to see the animals. They get to participate in all kinds of fun activities and to have a little bit of awareness and a little bit of education.”
Admission to the event is free but donations are always appreciated.
