FARMERSBURG, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— Senator Greg Goode (R-Terre Haute) had three students from local schools serve as Senate pages in March.
The three students were Clayton Thomas from West Terre Haute, who attends Highland Academy, Emery Whitkanack from Shelburn, who attends Sullivan Middle School, and William Woodruff from Terre Haute, who attends North Clay Middle School. As pages, the students got to spend a day at the Statehouse touring the building, watching senate debates, and interacting with the Senator.
“The Senate Page Program has continued to be a pivotal part of my role as senator since my own experience in the program as a young man,” Goode said. “It is great to see so many young Hoosiers eager to learn about the legislative process firsthand and connect with their state government.”
Students in grades six through twelve participate in the page program during the legislative session on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, with groups serving on Wednesdays.
