PARIS, Ill. (WTWO/WAWV)— The Edgar County Coroner has released information about a dead body found at a vacant home in Paris, Illinois.
According to the coroner, 911 dispatchers were contacted at 3:26 p.m. on April 15 by a person who stated they had found a body while in a home on North Street. Paris Police then were immediately dispatched to the scene where they determined the coroner would be needed.
30-year-old Robert C. Hemry Jr. of Evergreen Park, Illinois, was pronounced dead at the scene. When the Paris Police Department spoke with members of the Paris Police, the caller explained that he, along with two other men, had been hired by the home’s owner to complete repairs on the home so that it could be livable. When the men showed up at the home and began to unload the tools, they discovered the body.
The owner of the home said they had hired Hemry Jr. and had brought him from Chicago to look after the home while it was being repaired. The home owner stated she’d last heard from Hemry Jr. on April 8.
An autopsy was performed Thursday morning, and results are pending the outcomes of the toxicology reports. The incident remains under investigation. WTWO will update this story as more information becomes available.
