VINCENNES, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The City of Vincennes is encouraging residents to take advantage of its trolley system.
The trolley system runs a fixed route throughout the city, and it runs on a one-hour loop. It started about a year ago, and officials with the Vincennes YMCA, which runs these services, say it averages about a hundred riders per day.
Two new stops are being added for the summer. One at Rainbow Beach Pool and another one at Greg Park.
They are also changing a couple of the stops to better fit the needs of riders. Officials are hoping more residents will take advantage of this free service.
“Even if you have a car I encourage you to jump on the trolley and take the ride drive around town it gives you a little bit of time to reflect on what’s important in the world and and you can get a ride to Walmart and get a ride home takes you less than an hour and it’s it’s it’s a pleasant ride,” said Dennis Kordes, the CEO of the Vincennes YMCA.
