TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — An effort to clean up and beautify the community took place Friday in Terre Haute.
The community was invited to help kick off the Downtown Terre Haute Clean Up Day. The day was sponsored by Garmong Construction.
Employees and volunteers got to work early Friday morning to clean up the area, along with Wabash Avenue Downtown.
“We really believe in more than just building buildings. We believe in building a community. So, this event is really about rolling up our sleeves and giving back to the community that supports us and it amazes me cause every year our employees show up with heart and passion and it’s amazing what we can accomplish in a day of cleanup and it’s exciting to see,” said Lance Gassert, Chief Operation Officer for Garmong Construction.
During Clean Up Day, they picked up trash, pulled weeds and spread mulch to give the area a fresh start for the season.
