CLAY COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— Governor Mike Braun has directed flags in Clay County to be flown at half-staff in honor of a recent loss to the community.
On April 5, the Clay County community lost volunteer firefighter, EMT, and Clay County Deputy Coroner Roy A. Smith of Centerpoint. Smith died at the age of 60 after responding to a water rescue and losing control of his vehicle.
The flags are set to be flown this way from sunrise to sunset on April 13. The governor urges local businesses and residents to lower their flags as well.
