VINCENNES, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— Students at a local school got the opportunity to connect with employers today.
A career fair was held at Vincennes’ Lincoln High School. It was open to all Lincoln High School and Clark Middle School students. North Knox, South Knox, and Rivet High School juniors and seniors were also invited to attend. One Lincoln High School student said this offers students the opportunity to connect with potential employers in person.
“I love the career fair because it allows students to come first face-to-face with different businesses in our community and gives them a way to get different internships, maybe get a job application, and you’ll get hands-on experience be able to talk to them personally and just be able to get to know the the person that they’re working for,” said Aiden Fleetwood a junior at Lincoln High School.
Some students that are close to the end of their high school career said the career fair gives them a better idea of what they want for the future.
“This career fair has actually slim down of what I want to do in the future and where I want to go to college and what I want a major or minor in,” Said Lorine Lorial, a senior at Lincoln High School. “I just really love it, and I love that everyone can partake in it.”
There were about 120 businesses there on Thursday.
