TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— Indiana State University (ISU) managed to raise over $1.5 million on Give to Blue Day, a record-setting amount.
This is ISU’s 7th year hosting Give to Blue Day, which took place on April 9, and the college raised a total of $1,506,090 from 1,937 donors. The original goal for this year was surpassed by 72 donors who came from all 50 states and even 5 countries.
“Give to Blue Day 2025 once again proves the unwavering strength of our Sycamore community. With more than $1.5 million raised in just 24 hours from over 1,937 donors, it’s clear that Indiana State University continues to inspire incredible generosity,” said Andrea Angel, Vice President of University Advancement and CEO of the Indiana State University Foundation. “We are truly grateful to every individual who participated in making this the most successful Give to Blue Day in the last seven years! This day is a powerful reminder of the impact we can make together for the betterment of our institution.”
The funds raised during Give to Blue Day support multiple programs and scholarships for the college’s different divisions. Donors get to pick where their funds go, and this year’s top earner was Sycamore Athletics, followed by the Scott College of Business, the Sycamore Success Scholarship, the College of Arts and Sciences, and the Bayh College of Education.
Several organizations in the community contributed to Give to Blue Day by hosting special promos, encouraging donations, and giving a portion of sales to the school, many of the businesses owned by alumni. These businesses include:
- 5th Street Nutrition
- Culver’s
- Federal Coffee + Fine Foods
- Jersey Mike’s Subs
- Joe’s Pizza Express
- Bear’s Coffee + Roasting Co.
- Loose Goose Coffee Company
- Maggie and Moe’s
- McDonald’s
- Show-me’s Sports Bar and Grill
- Terre Haute Brewing Company
“The success of this year’s Give to Blue Day shows just how powerful our Sycamore community is,” said Drew Daming, Student Philanthropy Organization President. “This day isn’t just about dollars—it’s about showing up for students, for our futures, and for one another. Every gift creates opportunities for students like me through scholarships, career-building experiences, and support systems that make a real difference. I’m proud to be part of a campus that believes in the power of giving and invests in our success.”
Give to Blue Day was digitally driven and had over 300 social media ambassadors that included staff, students, faculty, alumni, and friends. Other events took place throughout the campus over the week ahead to engage the community and educate students on philanthropy.
“As my first Give to Blue Day ends, I want to express my gratitude to everyone who made this day unforgettable. Whether you participated in events on campus, shopped with our community partners, or donated from around the world, your support was deeply appreciated. The energy on campus and across the Wabash Valley was vibrant, and your generosity will help create transformative opportunities for our Sycamores by enhancing an already strong educational experience,” said President Mike Godard. “Together, we’ve shown the power of the Sycamore spirit, and together, we’ll continue to shape the future of Indiana State University.”
Next year’s Give to Blue Day is scheduled for April 15, 2026.
