KNOX COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A traffic stop in Knox County led to officers finding methamphetamine inside a man’s vehicle and storage unit.
According to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO), a deputy initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle making an illegal right turn at Hart and Kimmel Streets in Vincennes on March 24.
The driver, Roger McClure, 53, was already known to the deputy due to an anonymous tip line that received four complaints regarding McClure and his wife allegedly dealing methamphetamine out of storage units in Vincennes.
A KCSO K-9 unit was dispatched to the traffic stop and indicated the presence of an illegal substance inside the vehicle. The deputy then allegedly located methamphetamine, small plastic baggies, a digital scale with methamphetamine residue on it, and a prescription bottle containing medication that was not prescribed to McClure.
A search warrant was then obtained for the storage unit, and inside KCSO said they allegedly found more methamphetamine.
McClure was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of a legend drug, both level 6 felonies.
