BRAZIL, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— The Clay County Commissioners have several projects they are working toward this year.
They gave a presentation Tuesday at the monthly Clay County YMCA Meeting. They talked about projects that were completed last year as well as what they will be working on this year. Some of their upcoming projects include a pedestrian and bike trail study, looking at road and intersection safety, and studying the county’s housing needs. The county also received a Community Crossings Grant again this year to help fund more road improvement projects.
“We were notified this month that we have been awarded the $1.5 million which is the maximum amount and so we will be using that money to do additional paving here in Clay county and prove the roads make them safer for all of us that’s one of the things that we’re really excited about.” said Clay County Commissioner Paul Sinders.
Commissioners also want the public to know that Clay County will be turning 200 years old next week. The county will hold a celebration on Saturday, April 5th, from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the courthouse lawn. There will be food trucks, music, giveaways, and more! Bicentennial shirts will be available for purchase.
