CLINTON, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— Wednesday evening, the Vermillion County Republican Party held a caucus to fill the Clerk-Treasurer seat.
This is after, Nancy Willis resigned back in February. The voting of the seat involved four members who represent the City of Clinton Precinct. Bart Mooney was voted to fill the seat. He has served on the Redevelopment Board for seven years and served as Clinton Councilman from 2022 to 2023. Mooney says he’s excited for the position.
“My biggest plan is to make sure that we are transparent, we’re getting the information out to the public if they have questions we want to make sure we get the information to them,” said Mooney. “Of course, we want to keep a strong physical conservative look at the money. Make sure that we’re taking care of the public and using the tax dollars in a wise way.”>
Mooney has also worked as a Computer Technician Specialist for several years.
