TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Hometown Savings Bank (THSB) has announced Joshua Zuerner will be joining the board of directors.

Zuerner served as President and CEO of Joink, LLC from February 2012 until November 2024. Under his leadership, THSB said, Joink expanded to become a leading provider of fixed-wireless and fiber-optic connectivity for West Central Indiana and Central Illinois. He is also a director for Wabash Valley Goodwill and serves on its finance/investment committee.
Bart Colwell, President and CEO of THSB, said “Josh brings an extensive knowledge of information technology, management information systems, and finance to his new role as bank director at THSB. We are very fortunate to have someone with Josh’s expertise and character join our board as we look to the future.”
In elementary school, Zuerner began writing computer code and was recognized for his software development accomplishment by Bill Gates (chairman of Microsoft Corporation), Gary Beach (publisher of Computer World Magazine), and Masayoshi Son (chairman of Softbank) in Atlanta at the Windows World Open Software development contest, while he was still in middle school.
Zuerner graduated from Purdue University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Management, with a technical minor in MIS and an additional minor in Finance. He then opened an office in Terre Haute and provided custom software development and value-added reseller services as a Cisco Premier Partner, before joining Joink.
“THSB was one of many banks that supported the growth of Joink. I have always admired the bank’s leadership within the community and look forward to supporting the bank’s continued safe and sound growth as well as staying involved in the community that has been so supportive of me and my personal and professional growth,” said Zuerner.
Zuerner has received numerous industry and community awards including the WISPA President’s Award for Excellence, the inaugural 12 Under 40 award from the Tribune-Star and Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce, Indiana Governor’s Award for Tomorrow’s Leaders, Indiana DECA Outstanding Alumni, Purdue University’s Outstanding Senior Award, Carl S Riddle Scholarship Award, Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce’s Terre Award, Shane Miller Award, and the James G Higham Award.
