DAVIESS COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The EF-1 tornado that touched down in Daviess County, west of Loogootee, traveled 13.66 miles with speeds reaching 110 miles per-hour, according to the National Weather Service.

The National Weather Service said the tornado crossed the East Fork White River into southern Daviess County.
The tornado then continued to skip northeast, ending just west of Loogootee.
Widespread damage caused by straight-line wind was also observed to the east and west of the tornado’s main track. This wind caused damage throughout the town of Loogootee, said the National Weather Service.
The most significant damage was to a farm at County Road 100 South and County Road 1025 East in Daviess County, where winds reached around 100 mph.
The National Weather Service said damage also occurred to several metal farm outbuildings.
“A piece of 2×4 was thrown southeast and driven through the windshield of a semi-
truck. Two large grain bins were completely destroyed and torn apart, with debris thrown at least a mile northeast”National Weather Service
The National Weather Service said the remainder of the damage along the path of the tornado was mostly snapped and uprooted trees, minor damage to roofs and siding on houses.
