TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The trial of the man accused of shooting a Terre Haute doctor in the arm has been moved to August 25, 2025.
The attempted murder trial of Andre Obua was scheduled for April 21, 2025, but his attorney requested a continuance in the case. That continuance was granted on Monday.
On January 8, 2025, suspect Andre Obua allegedly followed Dr. Manish Gera back to his home from his workplace. Court documents said he allegedly fired multiple shots at Gera, at one point hitting Gera in the forearm.
The Vigo County Prosecutor’s Office filed the following charges:
- Andre Obua
- Attempted murder (1 count)
- Gun enhancement penalty
- Burglary (2 counts)
- Strangulation (1 count)
- Attempted murder (1 count)
Obua’s bond is set at $2 million and he remains in the Vigo County Jail.
