TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Saturday afternoon, dozens gathered to take part in the In Their Steps: A History Walk Celebrating Black Authors.
This was led by local historian Dr. Crystol Reynolds. The tour went into detail about the lives of black authors who were born in or lived in Terre Haute.
This was done while walking through downtown Terre Haute and stopping at historical landmarks that have significance in local African American history.
Those highlighted included Evangeline Harris, Dharathula “Dolly” Millender, and Cynthia Shepard Perry.
