TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Five inmates were injured Monday after multiple inmates were observed fighting at the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Terre Haute, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) Office of Public Affairs.
The BOP said that responding employees immediately isolated and contained the incident and at no time was there a threat to the public or were any staff members injured.
The injuries sustained by the inmates required outside medical treatment and an internal investigation is ongoing, according to the BOP.
The BOP said the institution will return to normal operations status as soon as possible.
