Daniels is known for his transformative leadership in public service and higher education. He was Governor of Indiana from 2004 to 2012, and made a lasting impact on the state’s political and economic landscape. Daniels Jr. was also the 12th President of Purdue University from 2013 to 2022.
Daniels Jr. earned his bachelor’s degree from Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs and his law degree from Georgetown University. Daniels Jr. is also an author and columnist who regularly contributes to the Washington Post.
“Really thinking a lot about the students tonight because I believe, and I’ve written this elsewhere and spoken about it elsewhere, that it’s more likely than not that today’s young generation is going to inherit a major set of difficulties,” said Daniels Jr. “The kind that only come around every two or three generations.”
