ODON, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — UPDATE: The Perry County Sheriff’s Office told our sister station in Evansville, IN, that Alexander Carlquist was taken into custody in the Oriole/Branchville area.
Perry County Sheriff Alan Malone also told our sister station he was arrested along Highway 66 N.
The Daviess County Sheriff Gary Allison says Carlquist is currently being medically treated at a hospital and has been charged with the following:
- Burglary
- Battery with a deadly weapon
- Battery with a deadly weapon causing serious bodily injury

UPDATE: The suspect, Alexander J. Carlquist is now in custody as of Saturday, February 15th according to the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office.

The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) is looking for a man who allegedly shot another male subject near Odon.
According to a press release from DCSO, in the early morning hours of February 14, the Daviess County Central Dispatch received a call reporting a male with a gunshot wound.
That male is in stable condition after he was transported to the Daviess Community Hospital and then transferred to another medical facility.
DCSO said the man they are looking for in connection with the shooting has been identified as Alexander J. Carlquist, age 35. Carlquist is a white male, weighing 180 pounds, is 5 foot and 11 inches tall, with brown and hazel eyes.
The sheriff’s office said that Carlquist may possibly be driving a 2004 silver Jeep Liberty, with the plate number CHJ385 or a 2009 silver Ford Focus, with the plate number CPQ532.
DCSO said Carlquist should be considered armed and dangerous. Carlquist has known ties to Perry County.
