TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— A man was arrested by THPD after a vehicle that fled the scene of a accident then hit a home.
According to Lt. Sears of the Terre Haute Police Department, a car accident occurred just before 3 p.m. Thursday near the intersection of Brown Avenue and Wabash Avenue. The vehicle had fled from the scene of the accident however, and then followed by hitting a home near Ohio Boulevard and Brown Avenue.
Sears stated that as a result of the investigation, the driver of the vehicle has been arrested. 47-year-old Matthew S. Hendrix of Terre Haute has been charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated. Hendrix was evaluated at a local hospital and cleared to be incarcerated.
No other people involved in either incident reported any injuries according to Sears. Hendrix will appear in Vigo County Division Five court Friday.
