INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Former Vermillion County Commissioner, Tim Yocum, has officially taken the oath of office to serve as state representative for House District 42.
Yocum was chosen to represent District 42 in a caucus held Tuesday night. Yocum will be replacing Rep. Alan Morrison after he was chosen to become the director of the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, by Governor Mike Braun
Indiana Supreme Court Chief Justin Loretta H. Rush administered the oath to Yocum, Thursday, during a swearing-in ceremony, in the House Chamber at the Statehouse in Indianapolis.
“I’m honored to represent the Hoosiers of House District 42 at the Statehouse,” Yocum said. “I look forward to serving our community and sharing our values and priorities as the state representative for our area,” said Yocum.
Yocum perilously served as a Vermillion County Commissioner for 10- years and served as the board’s president for the past 4 years.
