TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — With the recent snowfalls and the bitter cold temperatures, Terre Haute Regional Airport has been taking extra steps to maintain day-to-day-operations.
Its director of operations Karlee Erickson said that the hardest and most important part is proper coordination and planning from all the terminals involved. She said there is also a lot of heavy machinery and equipment that is used to properly clean off all the runways for the planes.
Erickson said that she is lucky to be a part of a team that is so dedicated to this airport.
“To have people here who are willing and able to work 24/7 multiple days in a row through a big snowstorm is a great opportunity,” said Erickson.
Erickson said they hope the winter weather conditions ease up soon.
