TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A new affordable housing project in Terre Haute has officially opened its doors Wednesday.
Mullen Flats provided by Mental Health of West Central Indiana is a 42-unit complex is filled with one-bedroom apartments.
People who are eligible to live in the apartment complex, can live in the apartments for 30% of whatever their monthly income is.
Mental Health America of West Central Indiana, CEO Myra Wilkey, said five households have already moved into the building.
“They’re really excited they love it they talked to me this morning about how beautiful it is and how grateful they are and we’re just really happy to have them become part of our you know our little family that we have,” said Wilkey.
The organization will also be opening the Lotus Center, which will offer emergency housing. There’s no opening date set at this time.
