WEST TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – A local library is helping families introduce their babies to the fun of reading and play.
The Vigo County Public Library West Branch hosts an event called Baby Lap Sit Storytime every Tuesday morning at 10:30 a.m.
Parents can bring their baby for a 15-minute storytime followed by 30 minutes of playtime with other babies.
Assistant Branch Librarian Beth Nelson said introducing words during an event like this will help babies feel that reading is a fun thing to do.
“I just love it when they’re having fun, when they are engaged and totally into it. They’re so exciteable at that age. It’s so easy to give them an experience that they enjoy,” said Nelson.
No registration is required. If you have any questions about the event, you can call the West Branch at (812) 235-2121.
