TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— Indiana State University has announced the retirement of Diann McKee the Senior Vice President of Finance and Administration and the University’s Treasurer.
Her retirement will take place on June 30, 2025, after 38 years in administration for higher learning. During her time in the position, McKee has been a part of many large projects the school has undergone. Under the leadership of McKee, the university has completed $550 million in both new construction and renovations that have taken place since 2009. McKee has also been in charge of starting relationships with state and local governments for funding and support.
“It has been an honor to serve my alma mater, Indiana State University, for 38 years and to have contributed to the University’s success,” said McKee. “I am deeply grateful to have worked alongside many dedicated and talented colleagues. Together, we’ve made transformative investments and completed projects that benefit our students and faculty and strengthened Indiana State’s mission. I am also indebted to mentors who have supported me and provided counsel throughout my career. As I prepare for this next chapter, I will remain an advocate and supporter of this great institution and its mission.”
Some of McKee’s greatest achievements include planning and construction for a State-funded $66 million renovation of the Bailey College of Engineering and Technology, a $64 million renovation and addition to the College of Health and Human Services, Overseeing the $50 million renovation to the Hulman Center, renovation and restoration of Normal Hall, a $15 million renovation of the Fine Arts Building, and a $18 million state-funded renovation of Dreiser Hall. McKee also oversaw renovations and upgrades to on-campus housing and dining halls, coordinated a public-private partnership for 500 Wabash student housing, developed and facilitated three Campus Master Plans, and eight consecutive years of International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators accreditation.
Mckee has served in the position for ISU since 2008 and has served in various other finance and budgeting positions at the university before that. McKee has also held positions in the community as a board member of the Union Health Foundation, Art Spaces, Swope Art Museum, Wabash Valley Goodwill, Terre Haute Human Relations Commission, and the Terre Haute Boys and Girls Club.

McKee’s successor has not yet been chosen but a committee has been put together with many members of ISU’s staff in an effort to choose one. The search will conclude with interviewing finalists in April of 2025 and a start date of July 2025.
