SULLIVAN, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — There is still plenty of snow on the ground, and the City of Sullivan has a fun contest planned.
The City of Sullivan is holding a snowman contest. Mayor JD Wilson says that you can submit snowmen of all shapes and sizes by posting a picture on Facebook and tagging the City of Sullivan, Indiana Facebook page or by tagging the mayor himself. Wilson says you can also call the city hall and talk to the mayoral assistant at 812-268-6077. Wilson says himself and a few judges will go around and look at all the submissions.
“It’s time to have a little fun,” Wilson said. “The kids are out there, they’re sledding. We have had this contest of the mayor’s snowmen for several years now, as long as I can remember, when we get a good snow. This isn’t the first one, so about every time we get a snow we want to have this. The kids love it, they’re sledding out there today, I’ve seen a snowman already built.”
Wilson says the contest will run until January 17, and he says these are the probable prizes:
1st place – one season pass to the Sullivan City Pool and Jr Mayor for a day.
2nd place – three daily entry passes to the Sullivan City Pool and Jr Mayor for a day.
3rd place – one daily entry pass to the Sullivan City Pool and Jr Mayor for a day.
