SULLIVAN COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Sullivan County officials announced that the county moved to a red travel advisory and that county offices will be closed again on Tuesday, January 7.
According to Sullivan County Emergency Management Director, Jim Pirtle, after a conference call with county commissioners, the decision was made to move Sullivan County to a red travel advisory.
A ‘Warning Travel Advisory’ or ‘Red Advisory’ is the highest level of a local travel advisory. A warning means that travel may be restricted to emergency management workers only.
In a social media post, Pirtle said they are planning to have another discussion on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. to reevaluate the situation.
Sullivan County Sheriff Jason Bobbitt stated that all Sullivan County officers will be closed again on Tuesday, January 7th.
Bobbitt urged residents to “stay home unless absolutely necessary.”
