CLAY COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Indiana Department of Natural Resources will be getting a new director.
State Representative Alan Morrison has been chosen by Governor Elect Mike Braun to take over the position. He has served as a representative in House District 42 for 13 years. Morrison says that he can’t wait to get started in his new role and hopes to make the DNR as business-friendly as possible.
“We’ll be part of that,” Morrison said. “He also has a very big piece in health and wellness, and what promotes wellness more than our state parks and getting out in nature and enjoying our beautiful natural resources here in the state, so we’ll certainly be a big part of the governor’s agenda and we’re looking forward to it.”
Morrison says that a caucus will be held to fill his previous position on January 14.
