TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— Pathways is currently seeking donors and volunteers while they open their warming center for those stuck in cold weather.
According to a news release from Pathways, they will be reopening their warming center ahead of the winter weather coming up. While they are currently preparing the schedule for the center they are seeking help from the community.
Many volunteer positions are open to fill for two-four hour shifts daytime or night including:
- New Resident Check-in
- Front Door Monitor
- Day Room/Back Hall Monitor
- Clothing Closet Help
- Cleaning Crew
- Kitchen Help / Meal Serving
- Floater / General Assistance
Volunteers can also come in to prepare and even serve meals for individuals for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. You can also donate funds or check the Amazon wish list for items needed or consult the list of commonly needed items below.
- Large cans of coffee
- Sugar Packets/bags of sugar
- Jugs of juice for breakfast
- Shelf-stable snacks or fresh fruit for in-between meals
- Paper plates, cups, and bowls
- Napkins
- Plastic spoons and forks
- Dog and Cat Food
- Socks, Hats, Gloves
- Hot Hands Hand Warmers
- Blankets & Sleeping Bags
