TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — With the new year officially here, local branches of government are making changes. This includes the Terre Haute City Council.
Thursday night, the city council elected Democrat Todd Nation as their president in 2025. Nation previously held the position of vice president in 2024.
Nation has been on the Terre Haute City council for 22 years, and this is his 4th time serving as president. His first term was in 2008.
However, this time Nation says things are a little different.
“I have really enjoyed working with Mayor Brandon Sakbun, and my fellow democrats on the city council. At this moment all 12 elected city position are occupied by democrats. I can’t remember a time in my life when that’s happened, and we are working well together,” Nation said.
Along with Nation being appointed president, the council also elected Anthony Dinkle as the Terre Haute City Council Vice President for the year of 2025.
