FARMERSBURG, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— The Indiana Department of Transportation(INDOT) is taking applications for the Community Crossings Matching Grant Program.
INDOT is looking for projects for Spring 2025 to possibly earn a grant to fund them. The window for applications to be put in is currently open and will continue to be through the month of January until 5 p.m. on the 31st. The grants through this program are available to cities, towns, and counties throughout the Hoosier state.
A few stipulations are in place for the areas applying for the grant. Cities and towns with less than 10,000 people will receive a 75/25 match for funds while those with more than 10,000 will receive 50/50 matched funds. This will also apply the same way to counties applying with more or less than 50,000 people.
The state has given out more than $1.83 billion on road and bridge projects since 2016 using this matching grant program.
