TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Indiana State Police want everyone to have a fun New Year’s Eve, but they remind people to celebrate safely and responsibly.
Public Information Officer Sgt. Matt Ames with the ISP Putnamville Post says people who will be drinking should plan ahead of time to make sure they have a safe ride home.
He adds that it’s important for the public to report when they see someone driving dangerously.
“The public will call 911 and be able to give us information on a possible intoxicated driver. What we ask you to be able to do is give us a good description of where you’re located at, what types of activities you’re seeing that driver do,” said Sgt. Ames.
He also encourages people to use the buddy system while out celebrating.
