VINCENNES, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— The 2025 budget for Good Samaritan Hospital has just been released and holds good news for both employees as well as patients.
The budget includes a 4% pay increase for caregivers as well as no rate increases for patients seeking medical help. The Board of Governors of the hospital said this is their way of showing their commitment to supporting their employees and providing affordable healthcare. The President and CEO of Good Samaritan Rob McLin announced a $3.9 million worth of allocated funds would be for the merit-based wage increases.
“Our talented caregivers are the backbone of our organization, and this investment recognizes their hard work and dedication to delivering exceptional care,” said McLin
Chief Talent Officer Tara Ellerman said that the wage increase will take place in April of 2025 when performance evaluations are scheduled. The budget also focuses on increasing revenue by bringing in more patients partially by adding to the orthopedic spine and neurology services that were added in late 2024. Good Samaritan also stated that they are preparing to invest in a geriatric psychiatry unit and add bariatric surgery to its list of services.
