PARKE COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— Sunday night, deputies with the Parke County Sheriff’s Department rescued a woman trapped in her car.
According to a news release from the Parke County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded to the incident around 9:51 p.m. Sunday night. The wreck occurred in the area of Jeffries Ford Road and Deer Run Road and were informed the accident dealt with personal injury.
The release said that upon arriving on scene a Honda car was found in a ditch full of water. The driver, who was identified by sheriffs as 71-year-old Phyllis Clark, was found in her vehicle and was rescued from the rising water by first responders. Phyllis was determined to have sustained serious injuries according to the release and was taken by Parke County EMS to Union Hospital in Terre Haute.
