TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Hundreds of Christmas meals were packed Friday morning as part of the seventh annual Midas Drive Out Hunger Food Drive.
WTWO/WAWV teamed up with Midas and Baesler’s to collect donations to help people in need this holiday season.
The food was delivered to Hamilton Center where it was sorted and bagged.
Hamilton Center leaders say holidays are all about time together with family. This effort helps families spend time together around the table.
“We take part in this every year because we always want to give back to our community. We always want to make sure communities understand that we’re here for them, we’re providing services for them, we’re reaching out providing whatever they need. How can we help people, how can we give back, how can we serve and that’s what we’re here for,” said Dwight Weaver, Program Manager for Child Adolescent Services.
Thanks to the generosity of the community, the effort is providing meals to 150 families.
