TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAW) – The community can help a local church provide toys, coats, and hats to children this holiday season.
Prince of Peace Missionary Baptist Church is preparing to hold its fourth annual Toy Extravaganza.
The event takes place Saturday, December 21 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Girl Scout Building located at 1100 Girl Scout Lane in Terre Haute.
In addition to providing toys for children, the event will also provide snacks and fun activities for families.
Darlene McCaskill with Daughters of the Divine Women’s Ministry explains why they enjoy putting on this event.
“It’s important to do all this because we know that we have children that don’t get gifts and we just like to put a smile on their face, and we like to do community action work for the community,” said McCaskill.
The church is accepting donations for the event until December 20. People interested in donating can contact the church at 812-232-0582 or visit the church at 2415 8th Avenue.
