TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — On Saturday, Miracle on 7th Street held their community event and on Sunday they partnered with a local church.
First Congregational Church of Terre Haute held a Cantata Sunday afternoon, which is the telling of a story using music.
They brought in local talent to sing and WTWO’s own Julie Henricks to read the story of Christmas from scripture.
The event acted as a fundraiser for the church, much like their Strawberry Festival in June.
First Congregational Church’s Reverand Doctor, Vicky Eaton, says the history of the church and its place in Terre Haute make an event like this special for the local community.
“I think to get the word out for the reason for the season and in such a beautiful church. December the 30th we will be 190 years old, and we are the oldest downtown church in Terre Haute. We are working in conjunction with Miracle on 7th and to be a part of the downtown community.”
The church also plans to make the Winter Music Fest an annual event as their winter fundraiser.
