TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— Terre Haute Fire Department has confirmed that a fire Wednesday morning will shut down a southside restaurant until further notice.
A news release from the Terre Haute Fire Department stated that they responded to a call at the Popeyes in Terre Haute located at 3551 South U.S. Highway 41 for a structure fire. This occurred around 8:58 a.m. and members of the fire department labeled the cause a grease fire. Terre Haute Fire Department personnel were able to activate the hood suppression system to put out the blaze.
THFD then ventilated the building to allow the smoke to escape the confines. No injuries were reported for either the staff or firefighters. THFD did however confirm the business would be shut down until further notice.
