CLARK COUNTY, Ill. (WTWO/WAWV) — Two crashes on I-70 lead to multiple people being transported to local hospitals for treatment.
According to the Illinois State Police, ISP Troop 9 responded to two separate incidents on Interstate 70 westbound at milepost 154, west of Indiana State Line, Clark County, IL.
A red Ford F-250 pickup truck towing a camper slid off the roadway and overturned on the shoulder.
The second crash involved a SUV that lost control and spun out in the roadway before being struck by a truck-tractor semi-trailer combination. The vehicle came to rest upright in the center median.
The roadway was reported as slick due to weather conditions, with traffic backed up to the Indiana State line. Illinois Department of Transportation has been notified of the request for salt trucks on the roadway at the location.
