TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — One local company participated in the fourth annual ‘Coolest Thing Made In Indiana’ tournament, which is run by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce.
Clabber Girl has been a fixture in the Terre Haute community for over 100 years. Company officials say that they were put in the competition after a fan nominated them for consideration. After several rounds of online voting, the company made it all the way to the top eight out of 64 competitors before being eliminated in the quarterfinals. Plant manager Ken Campbell says they are preparing for a strong finish to the year this holiday season.
“We’re busy all year round,” Campbell said. “Years ago it was mainly just retail, but now we also do food service and we do industrial products as well, so just getting ready for 2025 and make it a successful year. We’ve got about 162 people that are employed here, very dedicated people, and that’s what makes Clabber Girl great is our team.”
Today, Clabber Girl continues to produce many products beyond baking powder, such as corn starch, baking soda, specialty mixes, and more. For more information on the competition, click here.
