TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – A class project at Indiana State University raised money for a local fund that supports childhood cancer research.
Students in ISU’s Principles of Marketing Class designed and sold Welcome to Terredise shirts, featuring an image of the Vigo County Courthouse.
The proceeds from the shirt sales are going toward the Patrick S. Barrett Foundation’s PS We Love You Fund, which supports childhood cancer research.
In addition to collaborating on a design for the shirts, the students were also tasked with finding local businesses to sponsor the project.
Student Coordinator Zack Knuckles said the project taught them valuable skills about marketing, working together and making connections.
“This is an important project to have primarily because it gets you that education on what it’s going to look like in the real world, but it’s also going to give you direct feedback from a wonderful professor. Also, it gets you that connection with all of your peers,” said Knuckles.
He said the shirts are sold out and added that they sold over 200 shirts, raising at least $1,500 for the fund.
